Chuckie

Our AutoCAD Specialist ~ Thomas a.k.a. "Chuckie" for those who know him well, has been the driving new force at the Washington, DC, Architectural Firm of McDonald, Williams & Banks! Since coming on-board with MWB, he has single-handedly spearheaded the Office Upgrade for the MWB Computer Network and Workstations. Acting as Layison, as well as part of the ICUG Upgrade Team, his intense focus has seen his Computer knowledge expand at an amazing rate! With his prior years of expertise in Photography, we should not be surprised that he was the influence that brought Digital Photography to MWB! You'll also see examples of his Digital handiwork in some of the recent photos on the ICUG Web Pages.

Chuckie's many years of Experience in Youth Programs, from the days of Y.O.U - Youth Organizations United, L.T.I. - Leadership Training Institute, and the Mobile Training Laboratory, to name a few, has most recently saw his Concept and Design of the Youth Mobile Training Project. He incredibly manages to allocate time to Youth Mentoring as well!

Jessie

What else might we expect but Great things, from one who took the ICUG Proposal to Beijing and Shanghai, China and along the way, stopped for a photo opportunity, on the historic Great Wall of China!

Adding to her years of Computer Training and Graphics Talents, Jessica is now following her first love, and working with Thoroughbred Race Horses. While training in her Equestrian endeavors, she has also pioneered the expansion of ICUG for the Hispanic Community, being instrumental in the Planning and Development of The ICUG Mexico Computer Training Program. Having paved the way for the ICUG focus on Renewable and Sustainable Energy and Environmental Awareness ~ attending Philly 2000, and the 5^th Annual "Solfest" Solar Conference at Real Goods Solar Living Center in Hopland, California, she continues to strive forward in her efforts by providing Research, Information and assistance to local associates who have plans that include development of their Land, for such undertakings as Solar Power, Hydroponics and Aquaponics. Willie

And Endless Source of Energy, Motivation, Support and Camaraderie ~ Willie's dynamic presence has been a major factor in all of our recent Achievements! From Network and Computer Systems Training at the Office, our Summer Hardware Training Course Initiative, the MWB Office Network Upgrade, the Youth Training Lab and most recently the Computer Console Renovation ~ Willie has been a driving as well as supportive force in them all! As a longstanding ICUG Member, Christina adds her Support to the ICUG Team from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In her Office Position, she was one of the first people, overseas to help in the ICUG efforts of using telecommunications to reach across the distances and insure that ICUG could successfully develop it's motto of - "Building Bridges WorldWide ~ Thru Better Communication". Leo is "High Energy!" From the back breaking move of all of the Donated AGT Office Computers, Furniture and Equipment, to his coming on-board as part of Our Team, for the Summer Hardware Training Course Initiative, the MWB Office Upgrade, and the Youth Training Lab Plenary Sessions, Leo has been in the trenches with the Team, when there's Work to be done! As the months have rolled by, and Our Collective Progresses and Achievements have been many … Leo was there helping to lay the all important foundation from which we stand today! Although his new Job keeps him pretty busy, both at Work, and trying to handle all of the freelance offers that he gets, we always look forward to when his schedule allows him a little free time to join us on Team Projects! Veronica

From an offshore Shell Refinery as a part of the Computer Support Team in Singapore, to the fast pace of the busy streets of Hong Kong, to Entrepreneurial Businesswoman, and experience in the fields of Banking, University Administration and Law … Veronica is "a Quiet Storm!" Also a longstanding ICUG Member, Veronica has agreed to shoulder the responsibility as the Official Representative for ICUG Malaysia. Besides helping in the planning of Distance Education and Remote Training for the ICUG Program, Veronica also finds time to dedicate her time to working with AWAM - All Women's Action Society, an independent organization committed to improving the lives of Women in Malaysia, with a vision toward creating a just and equitable society, where women are treated with respect and free from all forms of violence and discrimination. Hailing from the USA's southern neighbor Mexico, Javier has agreed to undertake the expansion of the ICUG Distance Education Computer Training Program for ICUG. We have exciting plans on the drawing board, with high hopes of reaching many new members in Mexico, and extending Computer Training and Opportunity, via the Internet. As things take shape, we'll be keeping everyone updated of our progress and developments.

With years of experience at the GPO (Government Printing Office) under his belt, in the Printing Field, he adds to that with his growing Computer Skills, and supplements this with his weekend shift at Kinko's. The word "Tireless", hardly seems adequate! Rounding out his portfolio with years of experience in Security at such prestigious digs as The World Bank and USN&WR Magazine, A Martial Arts Practitioner and Affectionado, and active member of his Church. From the Philippines, to Hong Kong, and on to Vancouver Shores … our Lady Executive's talents, seem to know no bounds! Having been there, since OCUG became ICUG, he has seen the developments through all the years! His talents and experience give him the benefit of keen insight. Having "served in the trenches" from Community and Youth Programs, to the Professional Printing field, Dwight has established the type of well earned reputation that,
"when he speaks, people listen" ... and that has seen his successful rise into years of Management. His further ability to wear many hats, to see a Project to completion, is complimented by the his Teamwork and strong Work Ethic.

Office Network Upgrade Project for MWB

     Here's an example of "Where It All Comes Together" ~ The efforts of ICUG to provide Education, Skills and Training, can be considered a Noble and Worthwhile undertaking. Taking Training and Theory to the Next Level of "Hands On Experience In The Real World".

     Cultivating Opportunities with Small Businesses, Community Organizations, Entrepreneurs and Individuals, can provide Mutual Benefits. Such Opportunities can provide Real World Experience for ICUG Associates and Trainees, as well as Freelance Income from Jobs and Contracts. The Benefit to the Customer will be Personalized Custom Service, Reliability, and most of all - Affordability. Since ICUG does not have the overhead costs and considerations that most commercial companies do, we can afford to provide Services at a lower cost.

     In addition, ICUG can draw from the Resource Pool of   Talent, Skills and Experience of it's Members, Associates and Trainees to suggest Services to the Customer that he or she may not be aware are available. Offering freelance Jobs to ICUG Staff, for their consideration on a case by case basis, allows for the greatest flexibility anyone might desire.

     Using the MWB Office Network Upgrade as an Example, we might consider offering the below Services to the customer, and then having the service taken by the ICUG Associate.

We encourage the "Watching Over My Shoulder" aspect, as an ongoing learning tool which provides an added opportunity, for those who have the self-motivation and interest to expand their learning further through Group Dynamics.

CARE Consultants, LLC

  CARE Consultants, LLC was established in May 2001, by Mr. RV Adams and four committed men who saw an urgent need to enhance the quality of life for youth-at-risk. CARE is dedicated and designed to educate and restore hope for youth-at-risk by guiding them towards their dreams, showing them how to be successful, and giving them other alternatives instead of street life, incarceration, or death. Over 30 percent of youth died as a result of violence and gang related crimes nationwide in the last ten years, and the numbers are growing. There is a problem! Our youth. We as adults, have somewhat failed our youth. There is a saying, "IT TAKES A WHOLE VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD". The bond between the four men developed six years ago through a working relationship with youth-at-risk. They saw the struggles that youth face daily, and the fact that they were not given some of the same basic opportunities to meet life challenges. They decided to combine their skills and expertise in hopes of assisting youth in obtaining some sense of direction and hope in their lives. They felt by conducting an empowerment workshop it would enhance their quality of life. Also, to instill in youth the importance of education and overcoming life's obstacles. CARE's team of facilitators come together with various skills in areas ranging from mentoring, cultural diversity, communication skills, substance abuse, treatment and prevention, education counseling, spiritual guidance, conflict resolution, crisis prevention, leadership training, and life skills.

CARE realizes that the Rites of Passage Program offers a solid foundation for the youth. CARE also feels that this approach to the Rites of Passage is a preventive measure to make sure that youth who have been labeled as dangerous, endangered, obsolete and un-teachable are assisted in choosing a positive life path. Through the Rites of Passage process youth learn through empowerment instead of through fear. Rites of Passage teach teamwork, leadership, values, principles and responsibility. It is necessary for our youth to move forward into the future as mentally, emotionally, intellectively, physically and spiritually balanced.
